McIntire students:
After completing the online Education Abroad Workshop on this website,
apply to the "UVA Commerce: Semester Abroad" program, not to the specific program.

Program Overview

DIS-Study Abroad in Scandinavia, McIntire's oldest semester-abroad partner, offers a supportive and student-focused experience in Copenhagen, one of the most livable cities in the world and a place where tradition meets innovation. The expansive curriculum includes a wide variety of international business and liberal arts subjects, and topics in the core business course are brought to life through organized study tours throughout Europe. DIS has been highly respected around the world as a leader in study-abroad programs since 1959.

More information about curriculum, housing, and academic calendar is available to McIntire students in the MyMcIntire Portal Semester Abroad Guide.

Application Process

Students must attend the McIntire information session and complete the online Education Abroad Workshop on this site. Students should then complete the online "UVA Commerce: Semester Abroad" application on this site.

Applications are due by noon on the deadline date. Once admission is approved, students will be required to complete a DIS online application and attend several orientation sessions later in the semester.

Additional Information

This program is a direct enroll program, with tuition being paid to DIS. Students participating in this program will be responsible for the UVA Study Abroad Administrative Fee during the semester abroad. Detailed information about this fee can be found in the online Education Abroad Workshop.

When studying abroad all UVA students are required to have both basic international health coverage and emergency assistance coverage through the UVA-sponsored plan with CISI.
See the Insurance page on this website for more information about requirements.
