The International Experience

In keeping with the University of Virginia's goal to increase the number of its students studying abroad, McIntire Student Services and McIntire faculty strongly encourage students to plan an international study experience.

Semester Abroad Programs

Third-year McIntire students may study abroad during their spring semester and fourth-year McIntire students may study abroad during their fall semester and still complete the Integrated Core Curriculum (ICE) requirements, thanks to a partnership between McIntire and abroad institutions, in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain (2 programs), Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

McIntire semester-abroad programs offer business-focused curricula that allow you to stay on track with academic requirements, while enriching your McIntire and UVA educational experience.

All partner institutions have high academic standards and courses that meet the needs of McIntire students.

Application Process

Online applications are available on this site after reviewing the online Education Abroad Workshop.

Applications are due by noon (12pm) on the deadline date listed above.
Students apply to the "UVA Commerce: Semester Abroad" program,
listing up to four preferences for their study abroad location.
Once admission is approved, students will be required to complete a program-specific application packet and attend several orientation sessions.
