Program Description:

The University of Nicosia Global Semesters gives pre-medical, nursing and other allied health students the opportunity to study abroad in their field over the summer through the following tracks.
All students will take a Comparative Management of Care course which is a comparative study of US vs. European healthcare systems, privatized vs. socialized medicine, and how laws and culture play a role in the delivery and management of care.
The course includes site visits to public and private hospitals and clinics around the country to interact with healthcare professionals from an inter-professional perspective.
This track includes a full anatomy course in the cadaver lab at the Medical School, with relevant clinical skills practice in the simulation hospital, which includes a combination of simulation dummies as well as actor patients.
This track is for pre-nursing students and includes a practicum focused on the Provision of Care, where students shadow nurses in public and private hospitals and clinics, and practice clinical skills in the simulation lab.
Health Sciences:
This track is for students interested in comparative healthcare but come from non-science backgrounds.
Each track has a “Mediterranean” option, where students can visit Rome, Athens and cruise several Greek islands after their final exams. All tracks include travel all around Cyprus.
