Education Abroad Advisors

Raven Showalter joined UVA’s Education Abroad team in February 2025. A Virginia native, Raven has been in higher education for the past eight years and has worked as both an instructor and an administrator. Previously, Raven served as the Assistant Director of Global Engagement at Mary Baldwin University. Raven holds a B.A. in Asian Studies from Mary Baldwin University and a M.A. in International Studies from Old Dominion University. In 2021, she completed a graduate certification in Instructional Design and Technology through the University of Virginia. Previous international experiences include studying abroad in Kyoto, Japan and travelling in Japan, South Korea and Spain.
